1990-91 Skybox

I must be a glutton for punishment. This is the third time that I've added this set to my collection. The previous two times I sold the set with the intention of focusing solely on baseball. Obviously that hasn't worked. There is a big difference though this time around in regards to collecting this set. In addition to adding the 423 base cards to my collection, I purchased the "limited edition" binder that Skybox released in 1990 for their cards. I also just finished purchasing the last prototype card I needed, the Jordan that I have pictured. I also have the promo card that was given away at the 1990 NBA All-Star game that year. I'm still on the fence as to whether or not I should try to chase the four broadcaster cards since they're extremely tough to find and considering the fact that a Julie Moran card sold a few weeks back on eBay for more than $100. Ouch! Anyway, I'm glad I added this set back into my collection where it will definitely be staying this time around.

  1. Cool! I'm currently working on the prototypes as well.

  2. I can't believe I haven't seen this card before... or maybe I have, but I just don't remember. Anyways... I busted tons of 1990-91 Skybox. At the time, I thought it was the coolest set ever. Not as big of a fan these days, but I gotta admit... this Jordan prototype is a cool card.

    1. It's a very cool card Fuji. Actually, I think I like it better than the photo they used in the production set.
