Still In the Hobby

It's been a while since I've posted on the blog. Things have been crazy at work and I really haven't had much time to devote to the blog. I have wrapped up a huge project I've been working on for a year and started another one, but those will have to wait for another time to discuss. Unfortunately, one area of my collection that I've been ignoring lately has been my Pete Rose PC. A few weeks ago I finally added another card to that collection for $7, a 2015 Panini Elite Throwback Threads of the Hit King.

It's a very nice card and the way that Pete is positioned on the card with the old school Reds uniform the lack of a logo isn't such a big deal on this card. Much of my funds haven't been going to cards lately. In fact, I sold off a project I had been working on the past few years because I knew I would probably never complete it (the 2011 Gypsy Queen autograph set and memorabilia set). The Hank Aaron and Sandy Koufax cards were just too expensive to justify trying to complete this monumental task. So, with the funds I got from selling those cards I bought this...

This is the third guitar I've purchased, a 2017 Fender Duo Sonic Lake Placid blue with maple fingerboard. This guitar is great for reproducing a lot of the grunge music of the 90s for bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, etc. I like the fact that it's a short scale guitar (24 inches instead of 25.5 that you find on Fender's stratocasters and telecasters). The icing on the cake is that the humbucker can be coil tapped with a pull of the tone nob. Sorry for getting off into the weeds by talking about my latest guitar on my card blog. Anyway, I hope that life can slow down shortly so that I can spend more time reading blog posts and writing more about the latest acquisitions to my card collection.

  1. Cool guitar! It must be that time of the year. My schedule has been crazy too. I'm hoping things slow down in two weeks when the regular school year ends and summer school session begins.
